I am trying to write a back-up disc on my dvd drive. It has so far taken 16 minutes (supposidly writing at 20x3000kb) it still hasn't finished! (stopped at 17mins - burned disc OK) It would normally only take 2-3 minutes. At the bottom of my screen there is a square box with a green colour in the middle - it says CPU usage is 100% but then it changes to a black colour which alternates around1%-5%. Is this the reason why? Any suggestions please???

A 1x DVD writer transfers at 1.3mb/sec, and 8x (10.4mb/sec) is about state of the art right now. You didn't say how much data your disk has on it, but 17 minutes doesn't seem out of line.1 - 2 of 2 Posts
