HI there

I have got windows XP Pro and after formatting it and reinstalling windows the computer gets to the Welcome Screen and sits there for about 50 secs then goes straight to the desktop and everthing is fine from then on.

I have the computer connected on a network between 2 Windows XP Pro computers using a Belkin 10/100BT Ethernet Router and have Broadband cable modem which goes into the Router to goes both machines.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have added My Hijack Log as well incase anything is wrong with that!!!!

When it sits there, is it loading anything? or is it just frozen?
Thanks for the quick reply

I think it is just sitting there not doing anything for about 50 secs then goes to the desktop. The HD light occasionally goes on.

Well if it was loading, then id say its because of the startup software (EDIT: like norton...major resource hog) you have. But since its not, this is what im guessing.

In my past experience, when a computer sits there doing nothing at bootup, its usually looking for something, or trying to detect something, or waiting for a response from something (Usually ends up being a network connection). Do you have a cable modem or a network connection that initializes at startup? If so, maybe you have some network card issues, or something along those lines. Other than that, i cant really think of anything...

Might be a good idea to check your event viewer logs and see if there are warnings or errors or anything useful in there.

Hope that helps.
