My computer is very sick. First I fried the motherboard 3 weeks ago when I was trying to add 512mb of RAM. So I got a new motherboard installed by a friend. I think it might be a cheap motherboard but none the less my computer hasn't worked the same since. I thought all my problems were with Sims 2 but it is really a system problem.
At times it will freeze when we are checking our email. It will not run sims 2 it will usually run the game until you try to access a lot and actually play. We have turned down the graphics. I have talked to EAGames support. They won't respond anymore. I have downloaded drivers I have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. I have downloaded the sims 2 patch. I have defragged scan disked. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the sims2 many times. I have tried running the game with my panda anti virus on and off. I know that I have plenty of memory and power to run at least the sims2.
I recently read that this could be a problem with my Nvidia GeForce 4 mx 420 card not liking something else on my computer. I have also been told that this may be a problem with my BUS port. These things I don't know how to fix or reconfigure. I would be afraid of damaging something that is irreversible.
At this point I'm desperate, the geek squad at best buy could not even help me.
I have attached my system info. PLEASE HELP!
