Simply Kodak EasyShare 341 question

914 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  texasbullet
I was given this camera about four years ago, powered up the Li Ion battery and, yet, never used it. I'd like to now.

It's been stored safely but with the battery in it. I'm attempting to charge it now. Because sometimes it blinks green and then stops or has a steady green light for a couple of seconds and then stops, I've unplugged and plugged the charger a few times.

Any observations? Is it still charging when either type of light occurs?

Thanks for your input.

How long was it stored?
If it was for so long the battery is either defective or has leaked. Either way, you may need to replace the battery and clean any contacts for any acid residue.
Thanks, texasbullet. Clearing the contacts - is that wiping them down and letting them dry?
Cleaning the contacts means to check if the battery did not leaked any acids. If it did you need to clean the camera battery contacts so that power from the battery can circulate into your camera. I would consider also replacing the battery since it may have gotten corrupted or damaged inside your camera.
