Is your screen set to high resolution? Ckeck in desktop R click. And check the properties settings. A low resolution gives a blurred screen and stairs in pictures. You can chosse ather icons, R click on the Quick link (Also in Desktop) and find properties, other Pictogram.
Enlarging of icons can be done with UI Tweaks or with Regseeker Both free programs.

Is your screen set to high resolution? R clich in desktop and porperties settings and see how the display is set. Minimum is 600x800.
You may choose aother picts as well. R click on a quick link and choose other Pict.
With a program like Regseeker or Tweakui you may change the size of pict's.

Sometimes the Icons are just really small and so when they are displayed they don't contain enough information to display correctly but these are system icons right? Unless you did something that would affect them like the post above asks about I don't see why those would be pixelated.

A System Restore would fix it, but I dont know how practical that is for you. I am looking for an answer in the Vista Transformation Pack forums at JCXP. Found a couple of things:

Install TweakUI, part of the Windows Powertoys. It has a fix/rebuild icons option.

That doesn't help "repair" the quality of the icon. It only helps repair wrong icon types. Thanks for that program thought, it was useful in other ways.

Any other way to help with this problem?

Try TweakUI and restore iconcache. Its possible to restore an icon if you choose to open a file you have an icon and a extension. Click on folder options in explorer find change icon and relate that icon to the exe file that originally has been implemanted.

TweakUI is supposed to help with this I guess, but it did not change the blurriness for me. It's still the same.

And I never changed the icon for any of the programs, so I don't think that will help :(. The "Show Desktop" icon for example.. Could you even change icon for that?

Still need help:(

Hello ILSNB
It's a bit difficult to put things right because I am using a Dutch XP therefor names could be different for you. Don't take that to serious?
Open up explorer/folderoptions/file extensions/registered extensions/advanced/other pict/icon. Here you are able to select other icons, but you have tto relate to the file or folder or program where the icon is attached to. For instance Internet explorer, you need the Int Explorer.exe. Then select this program and the implemented icons will be shown.
Choose the correct one and OK. With A program like RESHACK you may also be able to vieuw the icons. There are more iconprograms. http://www.sharewareconnection.com/titles/change-exe-icon.htm
