Equipment:

Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless G Router - F5D7632uk4.

Problem:

I keep loosing my internet connection (2 to 3 times a day) the only solution is to switch off the router at the mains (sometimes this takes 5-6 or more attempts) to regain the connection. Getting worse over time.

Anyone have ideas what the problem could be?...should I buy a new router and not a Belkin!!

Have you tried changing the channel of the wireless connection? How about check for other sources of interference, wireless phones, nearby wireless networks, microwave ovens?

Thanks JohnWill !

I have tried the option of changing channel on wireless connection. (no change)

Looked at the problems that could interfere with the signal and connection, all clear and not causing the problem, it just seems to be the Belkin Router itself!?

If the router is on 24/7 and is two or more years old, IMHO there is an excellent chance that it is getting tired. If this is the case you may get a little more life out of it by keeping it cooler and by resetting to factory default settings and reconfiguring.

(Who woulda thunk that JohnWill would be talking about wireless interference and me about heat and age!?!)

Well, perhaps you're more familiar with "age" than I am. :p:p
