Attempted to install a raid card, gonna duplicate my hard drive (XP Pro), stupid card recognized the drives backwards, started to make my existing drive the mirror. Stopped it quick, but now says invalid system disk when I try to boot. I have installed the drive on another system as a slave and can see all the files, but cannot boot from it, any Ideas?

I think you are missing a step here. When you install raid either 0 or 1 or 0/1 you will need to create the array first. When you create a raid array, you destroy all data on the drives that exist at that time. If you want to do this you will need to make an image first, then create the array and restore the image. I have done this on a few occasions, and was never really all that happy with the result. While it does work, a clean install would be a much better way to go.

Once the creation process started on the disk in question, you will need something like recovery expert or some other third party program to recover data. The creation process destroyed the current mft for the drive; that is where info is stored as to where a given file / folder resides on the drive.

crjdriver is totally right.
You cannot start a RAID with the information on one of the discs. You must set-up the array first, then install the OS, etc. It is not as simple as replacing a single hard drive system.
You don't have to start with brand new or blank drives.but whatever is on them will be lost in the process.
