I have been have problems trying to share my internet connection with my older computer. The connection is cable(roadrunner) and my newer compuer has windows xp while my older 1 has 98. both have a pci slot and i also have a router dl-704p and it has been giving me troble. I have everything set up right and the net works on my newer comp but not on the other 1. Sometimes it wont work at all. Also the wizard setup only works when i can get the internet to work but not before. I am really comfused and frustraded because i spent 200 bucks to fix my older comp so i could set up a lan. Can any1 help me?

PS i wont be able to see this thread for a few hours so thnx in advance for the advice.

I was wondering if it matters that my host comp is using road runner while my other comp only has dial up. Dose the other comp have to have road runner set up on it for it to work? It has a high speed connection installed in it. I found a site witch tells how to set up a shared connection but its quite long and confusing so i was wondering if there was a more simple easier way to set up a shared connection with windows 98 and windows xp using a router?
