I'm trying to get my Wii online. I have a wired network, and 1 pc has a wireless card. I'm trying this program called 2HOTSPOT to create an access point using the wireless card. I have set my wireless connection to ad-hoc with encryption disabled, and the wired connection to share internet. The Wii sees the ad-hoc as an access point, but when it tries to connect, I get an error. Is there a way to get this to work, or a different program I could try, this one doesnt have much support. If this is possible, I would rather use this method and save a few bucks for now than having to buy a wireless router or any equipment from nintendo. Any help is appreciated.

With wireless routers regularly available for $20 or less on rebate deals, I'd just get the router, you'll have a LOT less issues in the long run.

If 2HOTSPOT is supposed to "create an access point" is seems contradictory and self-defeating to then set the adapter to ad-hoc. Maybe I just don't understand what that program is supposed to do. Is it supposed to work with ICS?
With ICS being sufficiently problematic all by itself I'd dump the other program and just create an ad-hoc network and then enable the ICS.
If you want any more specific help you are going to have to be more specific about what you are doing and more specific than "get an error."

Ok, here's the setup. I have a pc that gets online wired to a router, The same pc has a wireless adapter. I set the wireless connection to ad-hoc and turned off any encryption. When you go into the TCP/IP settings, the IP address is set to 192.168.0.1, subnet is default, and dns servers are blank. With the wired connection, I had to change the ip address for the router to 192.168.1.1, its a dlink, so the wireless ip was conflicting with the wired connection. I turned on Internet Connection Sharing, and the Ip is set to obtain automatically. The Wii detects the wireless connection, but when I try to connect, it says Error: 51030, unable to find access point, Please confirm SSID and try again. I also uninstalled the software I mentioned, it was just a management program, to control who and how many connected to the wireless connection.

It sounds like the Wii needs an infrastructure network ("unable to find access point"). Is there a way to configure it for ad-hoc, similar to the way you did on the computer?
