bootvid.dll is used to draw raw images without the GDI system, and is linked to the display adapters. Is your graphics card XP capable?

Have you tried copying the cd to the hard drive and setting up from there?

From the bootdisk, start pc with cd rom support

at the A:\>
type the following MD WINXP
then type CD WINXP
Next type E: where E is the letter of your cd drive
Type COPY *.* C:\WINXP and press enter.
( Don't forget the spaces between copy and *.* and also between *.* and C:\WINXP)
The files needed for Windows will now be copied from your CD to your hard drive.

Back to the F:\WINXP prompt.
Type C: and press enter.

Back at the C:\> prompt.
Type CD WINXP and press enter.
( Don't forget the space between CD and WINXP)

You will now be at a C:\WINXP prompt.
Type SETUP and press enter.
Installation of Windows can now begin.
