Setting up a network WITHOUT a router or Switch, just a dumb hub.

I know it is possible to setup one system as a server and go without a router, just wondering what software I need to make it an easier process.

I would like a small inefficient network made using a simple hub and one system set as server, I will be running Windows 9x on most of the clients.

Thanx for any info

make sure all PC's use the same workgroup.. Then set the ip's of each machine as
192.168.294.01, 192.168.294.02, 192.168.294.03, etc ; and the subnet as 255.255.255.0..

Then make sure file and printer sharing is installed.. Then just right click on the drives/folders/printers you wish to share, and share the drives/folders/printers..

If your using win2000 or xp as a PC with resources to share, you'll have to set up accounts for each user using thier login and passwords.. And don't forget to set up or disable your firewalls..
