Hi

I have recently installed a new server and upgraded from windows NT 4.0 to windows 2000. Everything went OK when the install went in. The problem that i having now is that all the XP pro machines are now taking a long time to log into the server and they seem to hange for a couple of minutes before they will allow any one in to the system. Does anyone have a clue what this could mean ? The windows 98 machines only take a fraction of the time to log-in and seem to be a lot faster.

Thanks for any advice inadvance

Try turning off XP's searching for scheduled tasks (this works in 2k, too):

Open up the Registry and go to :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/Current Version/Explorer/RemoteComputer/NameSpace

Under that branch, select the key :

{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}

and export it in case you change your mind and then delete it.
