you need to reduce the size of the picture

there are a number of free software packages to do that
you may have been given one with the camera

set the pixel size of the photo to make the longest side about 500 pixels - thats good enough to see on most screens

irfanview www.irfanview.com

You can’t beat the free Irfanview for that: www.irfanview.com First crop the picture to the size you want. Then go Image>Resize/Resample. Set the largest dimension to around 600 pixels with “Preserve aspect ratio” checked – it will set the other dimension for you. Save as a JPG at around 70 quality. You can lower the quality to get even smaller file sizes.

After you do that make sure to “Save as” and not “Save” or you will lose a good deal of resolution in your original picture. Give it a different name or save it in a different folder so it doesn’t overwrite your original.

Go to www.yahoo.com and then make search for yahoo photos. You can create your own album online and download the pictures from whatever file you have. Be careful you can download ten at a time and slowly build up some more. Then you can send an email message to families and friends, asking them to view your album.
