I have a friend who is trying to send pictures using dial up networking. The problem is that after using Home XP's resizing feature for email, he claims it takes 45 Min's to send 8-12 resized pics. I didn't think that that was all that bad for a dial up connection. Of Course he tells me that it use to take only 5 Min's or so. I sent 12 resized pics with my cable connection and it took almost 4 Min's.

So does anyone have any views on this? Are there any settings in Outlook Express 6 that might need to be changed?

Computer is running Home XP
2.XX Celeron
256 Ram
IE 6.0
OE 6.0

Sounds like the pictures are WAY too large. What you need to know is how many bytes per picture (dial-up connection speed too). Pictures should be reduced to 30kb up to 100kb for dial-up.

If 10 pictures of 30k each were sent, that would only be 300k and should go out in less than 5 minutes.
