When I try to select multiple files to move, delete, copy etc. I use the keyboard Ctrl key to accomplish this. Unfortunately half the time or more this also results in a copy of the files being made. I believe the keyboard trick for copying multiple files should be Ctrl + C. Anybody know how to use the Ctrl key to select only without any copy being made. My OS is Windows xp home.

CTRL and the A key will SELECT all files. Then CTRL and the C key will copy them. To PASTE them, it is CTRL and the P key.

The problem you are having is due to the way you click the mouse! I see this all of the time! This happens when your finger "Twitches" while selecting the files. This will create "copy of ...." files for you! I also see people accidentally open all the files they have selected.

Sometimes making your double click speed FASTER helps!

Have fun!
