"Select all" command

I can't figure out how to use "edit" then "select all" to move almost all the files into a folder. I'm running XP and know there must be a easy way to preform this task: I have hundreds
of music files and I want to move 95% of them into a new folder. I don't have the time to, or finger strength to hold control and choose hundreds of music files to drag and drop into new folder. I know there must be a way to select all and then deselect a few.
Anyone know the workaround?

Hi,

The the folder conteaining your music, click on edit -> select all. all the contents of that folder will then be highlighted -> Left click on one of the highlighted file the rest will follow and drag it to the folder you want to put them in.(all files will be moved). ( you will have to move the other 5% back manually), by either one at a time, pressing Ctrl + selecting the file by left-clicking on it, then dragging them to the correct folder or if the files are all together in a straight line select the top file, press the shift key, then keeping the shift key depressed click on the bottom file, once selected drag em to the correct location.

OR :)

Edit -> Select all -> Press Ctrl and Click on each music file you would like to stay in that folder, this particular file will then be "unhighlighted, is that a word!!!!" And it will remain in that folder when you drag the rest of em to the new one.

It finally hit me to try using Ctrl+A to select all and then held Ctrl and deselected the ones I didn't want. It worked. Thanks for suggestion though, knew I was missing something I knew,
just haven't used it lately (my brain that is)
Another way of moving lots of files is to select one, any one, hold down the left shift button, select another file further down the list, all files in between the 2 are selected, using the control key then, you can add and subtract single files to or from that selection, could have worked that way too.
Hi, Moby,

Yep, know about that one
