In a book I have a question that I got wrong but thought was right.

Two SCSI hard drives are installed on the same SCSI bus. Which statement is true?

a. The two SCSI drives must have the same SCSI ID.
b. The two SCSI drives must have different SCSI IDs and one must have SCSI ID 7.
c. The two SCSI drives must have different SCSI IDs.
d. It does not matter which SCSI IDs the drives have.

Now the book says the answer is d but I thought it was c because I thought that all SCSI devices must have a different ID to prevent conflicts.

"C" is correct. I can recall a couple of times in school when I got an answer counted wrong on a test and challenged the instructor on it. The answers in the teachers book are not always correct.

Yep, and SCSI ID 7 is reserved for the controller ID on older SCSI busses. However, D is most certainly wrong, and I'd agree that C is the correct answer. If you make the ID's equal, it no-workie! :D
