sorry for e-bay.... but thats where i bought both. i just need a cable, but i dont know which one...

ok, apparently my hard drive is a Ultra-1 SCSI and the card is a Ultra SCSI. how would i connect these then?

i just did some more research, and i (yea...) counted all of the holes in the card, and there are 50. the website says that this is an "Ultra SCSI,

and i looked at the hard drive, and the info on the page made sense, when it said "SCSI-2,

Fast-10 20 MB/s 1.5m
(4.9 ft.) Half Pitch DB68

Internal and external 68-pin connector used by most new hard drives. The external version includes thumbscrews or latches.

That card at ebay has 10.00 shipping! Even if you got it for 3.60 that would make the card 13.60 which is WAY too much for that card! I've seen them new for less than that at refurb places.

I'll check to see what version of SCSI you have for the Seagate.

but:
the hard drive is internal, but it has the external connections. the hard drive connector is wider than the pci card.

The plain Adaptec 2940 is not compatible with the WIDE interface on your disk, you need to find a WIDE or UW SCSI card to use that drive.
