screen has black section above of about 1.5 inches

I have XP and when my screen comes up there is a black area above bar. My clock is not showing I can pull it up to top but screen is not full and black area above it still 1.5 inches .
How can I get full screen to show again ?

Did something happen that might have caused this?

First, try using your System Restore.

If that doesn't work, it sounds like you just need to reposition the image on your monitor screen...
Look for a "Main Controls" menu on the front of your monitor and use the up/down arrows and other adjustments to reposition/resize your image.
