i am running windows me. when I run scan disk it just runs and runs and runs, thenI get a message that says that some program is trying to use the same drive as the scan disk therefore it stopped, I have turned EVERYTHING off except explorer but this still happens..what gives?

Stop your AV software and if you hav MS Office installed stop the process called findfast.

Always run scandisc in safe mode ( tap f8 on reboot ) and turn off any screensaver you may have running.
