I keep getting vague hints that there is a REALPLAYER GS2 or something like that. I am wondering what this really does besides play images, sound etc. I am wanting to save REALPLAYER video files, like ABC newsclips, promos for new music videos, those cartoon type videos that are sent via email that I open and run on my computer screen. I thought I saw this GS2 version might allow me to save the files I am viewing.

If this is not the case., does anyone have a way of saving/capturing REALPLAYER files that automaticallly open and play on the computer? I tried to see if the files were in the temp folder..thinging they might be stored there ...but I don't see them.

Maybe there paid version does more and will let you.
I know with Quicktime the option to save is not there on there free version.

As far As I know real player had a version 8 .... that had an inbuilt feature which allowed you to save(to disk) and listen at the same time!

That was the only version officially launched that supported it.... later versions saw removal of that feature for obvious "legality" issues...

this download manager hidownload will allow to download rtsp (real player stream) directly do hard disc without playing them in real player. but you have to provide the url of the stream and it s free
