How do I turn off my Samsung when the touchscreen isnt working?
If the touchscreen isn't not working at all, you can restart your device by pressing and holding the Volume down key and the Power key/Side key simultaneously for 10 seconds. Once it turns off, you can turn your device back on by pressing the Power key or Side key again.

If that does not work, which is NOT the same as removing the battery, then I suggest a referral to Samsung.
I presume the update went through OK and the phone battery was charged enough for the update and the phone did not lose power during the update

Your best course of action is to use the link I sent and refer to SAMSUNG
Usually the problem you appear to have is either due to the phone turning off during the update procedure

If it was the update released just a few days ago which I understood would not be available in Europe until November, buty was I understand released as a BETA update in some areads, it is even more important that you refer to Samsung

Your reply
tried all of that nothing works at all, but thank you x
does not make it clear - if you have referred to Samsung

I actually meant - online chat to samsung

Re the MTP driver you should not need it
I suggest the reason you canot see the Samsung is because the default on the samsung is - charge the device
The second point that users often overlook is the wrong connection type. When a user connects a smartphone to a PC, a notification appears on the screen of the mobile device, offering to choose one of several pairing types:

  • power only;
  • camera;
  • media and so on.
The default option is “Power only”. In this case, the Android smartphone simply receives its charge from the computer. Check your pairing settings and select "Connect as media" or "USB storage." Only in this case will the PC determine the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G phone as a full-fledged storage medium.

and of course you cannot get into settings to select file transfer or whatever it is called on the samsung

edited last line above - should have read CANNOT (as phone is completely apparently locked.)

You said you removed the battery on a Samsung A53??? To remove the battery on an A53 you have to heat and soften the glue with a heat gun and pry the back off using several special tools. You then have to remove several screws. iFixit estimates this takes about 45-60 minutes. The phone is no longer water resistant. If you are not careful you could easily damage the phone. BTW, I hoped you powered down the phone before you did this.

I can assure you from the symptons you describe you are going no where with this until you seek Samsungs opinion
This should have been done before you attempted to disconnect battery etc.
It just may have been possible that Samsung would have solved it for you
I repeat what I said originally - online chat to Samsung.
