Hi all.
We on this forum know the problems our members are getting trying to install their games and other new programs. And we also know that producers are been ripped of By people dishonestly copying and selling these programs. One of the main defences producers have against the novice copier is Safedisc, the latest is I believe 4.7 or V4 But what we are not told about this program is that puts a driver onto our PC on a ring 0 that means it as top priority but dose not protect us from trojans using this high priority setting so they can move into any part of our PC.
For people who are having problems installing the latest programs and games check out safedisc on google to find out programs that are not compatable with safedisc.Previously most of the trouble was that older CD&DVD were not compatable but 99% of new drives are it is some of the programs we use now that are not. Here is one link to start you off.

A little bit more Information on this subject. If you use Nvidia GPU when you install the drivers it puts this file on you pc to allow you to initalize you gpu and also allow you to overclock your card, the file is NvCplDaemon.this is a file by Daemon tools which is black listed by the producers of Safedisc.so this could be the reason you have problems installing programs protected by Safedisc.I do believe the latest drivers from Nvidia may have addressed this.

Now we must ask ourselves is safedisc a legal program,The law clearly states that all customers who purchase a licence to use What is installed on the CD-DVD are legally entitled to make one backup copy of the program, incase their CD-DVD becomes damaged,So if producers are stopping you making this backup they should supply us with a second disk titled Backup to ------- then customer would not need to by programs .To overcome the protection that is stopping them doing what the law says they can do.
Thats all on this subject, we really must not get walked on.

Rex
