No matter where or what I am doing on my computer, the following message keeps popping up on my screen and will not go away. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it? I have Windows 98. Thank you.

Hi R Fritz, Welcome to TSG!!

Create a permanent folder on your hard drive like c:\program files\hjt.
Download Hijackthis again and click "Save", direct it to the permanent folder you created. Double click on hijackthis.exe and select Do a system scan and save a logfile. This log will open in notepad. Copy and paste the log back here for review.
Don't make any changes until instructed to do so.

I have moved your post to the Security Forum as this is most likely caused by malware.

Thank you for trying to help me. I am a senior citizen and very computer illiterate. I don't know how to do any of the things you suggested. I will try to get my grandson to come over and help me. The "runtime error" is so annoying.
