Is this the first article of many to come? It may be too early to tell, but it appears that a few Republicans are beginning to question this President.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/04/07/politics/main610787.shtml

All I know is that beginning in the summer of 2002, the drum beat for war began.

Anybody that even questioned that drumbeat was painted as being unpatriotic.

A vote had to be taken on the war in October of 2002. That was three weeks before the Congressional election. The result was the President getting what he wanted, and now his party controls the U.S. House, the U.S. Senate and the office of the President. They control everything and make all decisions. ALL of them. The Republicans control it all.

We were told about weapons of mass destruction.

We were told that we were in eminent danger.

We were told we could not wait.

Our traditional allies were shunned and mocked.

And then, we were told, "Mission Accomplished".

And only now, some Republicans are figuring out the problem here? Sorry, too late. We need a change in leadership from the White House to the local Court Houses.

Worrying situation Rep. Worrying indeed. As of now I have my satellite dish locked on Al Jazeera feed transponder. They are filming more or less round the clock from various parts of Iraq. Sad to witness whats happening in Falluja. A powder keg waiting to be ignited IMHO

Rep....

Who would you like to see in the white house? While I don't agree with everything Bush has done, I am VERY AFRAID of what Kerry will do in the off chance that he gets elected!

As far as the local levels of government...
Here in California, we do need to out & change the party of EVERYONE in the State Legislature! doing that would allow the state government to actually get things done and help California recover from Gray Davis & company!

I would like to see Senator Kerry as president. What makes you so concerned about Kerry? President Bush now has a record, and it lacks.

BTW ST, back in October or so, you had started a thread about the CA recall. Why don't you bring it back? We do not get a lot of news on CA and how Gov. S. is doing anymore. Is the budget problem over? What did he do to solve it?

I wonder if you could share with us the history of your dislike of Kerry, who after all until the primaries was not a major figure.
Do you think that your attitude was shaped by the primary debates or since. And if the latter how much by the Bush ads?

The biggest things about my dislike/distrust Kerry are simple!

#1 - he can't take a stand on anything without suddenly reversing it when it suits him. Can't tell where he actually stands on issues because he keeps changing his mind.

#2 - His actions/Attitudes on his service in Vietnam. He uses it as a plus when it suits him, yet he bashes everything that everyone did and says it wasn't right when that suits him. Again, he's "Wishy-Washy" on the subject.

#3 - The current state of the Democrat party as a whole. The democrats are really becoming STRANGE lately and the Fanatical Liberalism is getting scary. the Dems have gone WAY TOO FAR to the left as a party and have LOST their grip on reality...That's how it appears to me anyway.

I appreciate your response.

Our country is certainly polarized. No doubt, the same points can and are offered for the President and his party as well.

I would predict that polarization to continue long after the November 2004 elections no matter the results on that day. :)

Rep,
The thing that scares me the most is what would happen to national security if Kerry gets into office. The Dems would basically let things slide in the war on terror and our homeland security would suffer as well since the Dems would rather dump money into social programs rather than defense concerns.

At this point in time, with the world terrorism problems, I would much rather see a Rep in office! That way at least our nation will be much safer.

I doubt that. It was under Clinton that Clark was having regular meetings and allowed to access the president. Kerry is not dumb enough to undo that kind of work on terror.

I don't really care who wins the election anymore, but I think Kerry being elected would have a direct effect on events in the world, and for the negative... Anyone else think theres a chance more somewhat unknown elements inside of Iraq would actively resist immediately after Kerry takes the helm? Sort of take advantage of the political change.
