I installed Flashget and uninstalled it. I still have the download & download all with flashget on my right click mouse key. I've tried for weeks to get to their site. How can I get rid of these ?

Thanks DS. This allowed me to get to the web site. I don't understand why going to it from the program wouldn't work. Anyway I checked the site out and couldn't find any information on removing their information from my right click button. Just in case I am confusing, when I download and go to a link I can right click the mouse and now I have reinstalled DAP so the right button says download with DAP, download with flashget, download all with flashget even after I have uninstalled flashget

btiger,

Did this download have it's own uninstall engine or did you uninstall it from your add/remove programs on your control panel?

It is starting to sound like one of those downloads that does not want to uninstall completely, if you know what I mean?

Yep, I'm afraid that is another one of those cute little progs. that does not like to reinstall completely so yo're gonna have to do it manually and just like ezymony suggested.

Let us know....

Well, hate to tell you this but done that already. There is nothing I can find with the exception of the right click button that has flashget on it. I tried Jetcar as well with zero results. This has got to be in one of those far off places I don't know how to get to.

Hi,

You'll have to search the registry, I'm afraid.

First back up your registry:
Click Start , click Run , type scanregw , and then click OK .
When you are prompted to back up the registry, click Yes .
When you receive the "backup complete" message, click OK .

Now go to Start/Run, and type Regedit.
Go to Start/Find, and search on keyword 'FlashGet'.
If you find Flashget entries, highlight, and hit 'delete'.

After the first hit, hit F3 to find the next one.

If your right mouse menu shows 'Flashget' entries with for example the F underscored (you know what I mean), you'll have to search for '&Flashget' (Ampersand preceding the underlined letter), or it will not be found.

Good luck,

btiger,

Glad you got it resolved.......nice job there Tony.

Keep in mind that everytime you dowload something you are changing the registry, also keep in mind that whenever you've taken the logical uninstall steps some progs. will leave a trail of crap behind regardless of if it has it's own uninstall engine or not, and finally whenever in the future you dowload anything remember that trick you just learned as that is the last and only other place where you need to effect a change.
Always back your Reg. before you change anything in it.
