I have an external hard drive with one partition which I want to repartition into two drives.
I can temporarily move all my files over to my main drive but the problem is the external drive also has program files on it too.
Is it possible to transfer these program files over temporarily to my main drive?

So long as those Program Files are not being used, and you have the same drive letter for them after the partitioning, there is no reason why they can't be moved temporarily. I've done this before and see no reason why it would not work. You just want to be sure that they have the same path afterward as before.

Let us know. The only reason I can see that it would not work is if the program required a hardware ID for registration (like Stardock and some others) or the files were in use.
