I think BillC's link is dead. If so try this: (Just Highlight, right click and copy the line,then paste in the run box)
Start, run, type
rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "C:\ProgramFiles\InternetExplorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINNT\IE Uninstall Log.txt"
Note: This is case sensitive.
Then hit OK
Select Repair Internet Explorer option, then OK
Choose Yes to continue. Reboot and windows will configure IE.
