regenv32 error

Every time I sutdown the computer I get a error message:

Regenv32 has caused an error in <unknown>.
Regenv will now close.

Also, I tried to run msconfig and got the same message followed by:

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION UTILITY

Unable to syncronize the enviroment variables in the Windows Registry with the enviroment variables in the legacy file Autoexec.bat and/or config.sys

I haven't noticed any problems with the computer other than these messages. Any ideas?

Oh yeah, Hp 5350 Laptop 850PIII 384Mb Ram 20 GB 8Mb GForce Video WinME......

Also you may want to post the contents of your autoexec.bat file and config.sys as they are involved in the error.

go to start/run/type sysedit, you should be able to copy and paste the files back here.

At least I think sysedit works in me.

I cant run sysedit. Is that how I should type it ( sysedit)

That information at that link you gave me might as well been in russian. In other words, I have no idea how it can help me. Can you explain?

Still doing it! If I hit ok the computer shuts off. Any help out there?
