I can't get windows xp to open. It goes through all the start up processes, it even brings up my desktop picture (mind you it takes a good 15 minutes to get to here) but no icons appear instead I get a message flick up on screen saying: 'A problem prevented windows from accurately checking the start user of the license for this computer. To proceed your copy of windows must be activated with microsoft.' (I have previously done this). It then gives me the option to activate now. Regardless of whether I hit yes or no it does nothing. I then tried to open the computer in safe mode and I got this message (it never actually got into windows in the safe mode it just flicked striaght to another black screen with white writing :)) 'safemicrosoft\rwindowsxp/build2600.xpsp-sp2-rtm.040803-2158:servicepacksafemode'

I need help. BIG TIME!!!
Cheers.

Welcome to TSG....

Your Windows has to be activated or authenticated, this can be accomplished by calling or contacting Microsoft. Have you re-installed in the last 30 days or just purchased it in the last 30 days?

Everything you always wanted to know about Windows Product Activation
