How can I read files on a DVD after booting into DOS, just like a CD or floppy? It would seem that a "real mode DOS driver" is needed. Or some other file or DOS program that can be run after booting to DOS. In order for the files on the DVD to be readable, is there some special way to write the files onto the DVD, 'close' the DVD and/or?

The answer to the question is: Make sure the files are burned onto the DVD as ISO9660, not UDF (Drag-to-Disk as Roxio now calls it). Those files then are able to be seen in DOS, copied elsewhere. I learned this from somewhere else, tried it and it works fine. Upon booting the DOS 98 ERD floppy, it automatically selected one of the CD drivers along with mscdex, which assigned 2 drive letters for my DVD/CD and CD burners. Although the 2 sites do not relate to this topic, they are great to know about, thank you.
