When I installed my WD 80 GB HD I partitioned it about 50/50. Now I find I'm needing a little more space on my main drive and I'm not using the other partition much at all. Is there a way to add back to the C partition, or do I have to re-partition the whole thing??

WinXP has a disk management utility but I strongly suggest not using it!! I have heard from people that have used it and found it to be full of problems for this task. Your best bet is to purchase third party software for this task. One of the best available and works well is Partition Magic 8.0 found at www.powerquest.com
Another is called Boot It and can be found here http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/
I have not used boot it so I have no recommendations about it.

Your only other choice without third party software is Fdisk and that will destroy "C" Drive contents.

Let us know how you are proceeding.

Take care

Dave, there is no problem that I'm aware of with the XP Disk Management capability. It won't do the task required here, since it doesn't non-destructively change partition sizes. OTOH, I've used it on dozens of systems, and it has never done anything odd or misbehaved in any way. Do you have any input that Disk Management has problems, other than the design limitations?
