I have a latitude cpx laptop

randomly (and rarely) the touchpad seems to go dead. if I wait awhile it will start working again...

but last night it was really bad and stopped working for like an hour. I turned the laptop off and this morning its ok again?

any reason for this? theres nothing in connection to when it stops working..its just random..

iffy drivers?

You could go to the Dell website and see if there is a more up to date driver for the touchpad. What I do is mostly disable my touch pad in bios and use a wireless laptop mouse. If I do use my laptop mobile with out the wireless mouse All I need to do is re-enable the touchpad when I strt the computer up.
