Hi

I have a 3 year old PC which keeps restarting itself when I'm in the middle of something. I recently upgraded the HDD from 10GB to 80GB and installed XP. It has a 700MHZ processor and 128MB of RAM. Why does it keep doing this and how can I make it more stable? I plan to upgrade the RAM to 256 and later 512 would this make a significant difference?

And YES upgrading the ram will make a HUGE difference...especially in XP. I recommend going straight to 512 mb though.

Hi

I read the other post but unlike in that situation the error message was appearing everytime the computer was restarted whereas for me it only happens when there actually has been an error. So I don't think that the patch will make much difference. Thank you for your post. Have you got any other advice? The other post does mention that I could try updating my video drivers. My PC is a Packard Bell iConnect so where would I download the update from? Thank you again.
