I have an hp zd7030 running windows media center.
I ran piracy crusader full (spyware program) It identified a long list of programs and files which were infected.
I clicked select all.
THEN....still can't believe I did this : I clicked delete.
and almost everything is gone.
I can't open any of my files can't even see them. No control panel just odd looking icons which do nothing. some files in control panel and other places have .lnk file extension
Still have my email but little else..and I'm scared to turn off the computer cause don't know if it will come on after wards.
BUTTTT: when I check the hardrive it says there is only alittle space left so it looks like its all still there .
Can you tell me how to get it back ....I am computer stupid ....obviously and don't know much about the registry or anything else technical.
Really need to be lead by the hand if possible.

nothing works...when i click on system restore absolutely nothing happens...like every other thing I click on. It's all hidden except the name.

does piracy crusader have an undo fuction or does it save changes to reg somewhere so you can undo?

hi guitar, thanks for coming back to my problem.
Let me correct a typo first...its Privacy Crusader full. the company is egeo software. When I did the deed, at the bottom of the window it said something to the effect that: deleted files will be saved in such and such location if you need to retrieve them....I did not save that location and now I can't access anything anywhere.
There is a window that I can get to come up : Map Network Drive when I pull down the menu for the Drive there is every letter available except c. And when I click on folder it says "Select a shared network folder" .....but there is nothing to select except at the bottom "make a new folder, OK or Cancel"
I know I screwed this up. I don't have a recent back up and Have a pile of personal and business pictures and data that i need desparately.
anyhow anythingelse you think I can try PLEASE let me know.

i'd reformat and put xp on again but you say you need important files best to keep them on an external drive next time
you could try reloading xp without formatting and see if you can get to the files
uninstall the rogue program
then post a hjt log for an expert to look at
i'm not an expert but thats what i'd do let me know if it works
