RAM upgrade possible?

Hi there,

i am thinking about upgrading my Acer Aspire 3 laptop (i7, 8gb ram, 1024 ssd, NVIDEA GeForce MX230).
Right now i have 8gb ram, but i want 32 gb. I have been told by the webshop, where i bought this laptop, that this was possible, but the crucial system scanner said this:

Standard memory:
8GB (4GB non-removable)

What does this mean?
The upgrade options that crucial gave me can be seen in the attached file)

The last question would be: Is het possible to put 2 16GB RAM cards in my laptop, or can i only put 1 16GB together with the 8GB thats already in there?

I have removed your poll as it is not necessary for the technical forums.

Your computer model may have 8GB by using 2x 4GB modules, hence the 4GB non-removable. Your specific machine is showing 8GB.. which doesn't make too much sense.

According to some sources that the maximum memory you can do is 20GB.

The only way to know is to open the back and check the memory module slot. If you have 1 slot that you can remove the memory then you have 2x 4GB memory.

Actually, download and install CPU-Z . Once installed, screenshot both the Memory and SPD tabs and lets see if it shows us. Where it shows Slot #1, change it to the #2 one as well

You appear to actually have a Acer Aspire 3 A315-55G series laptop.
It originally comes with a "non-removable" 4 GB module and a "removable" 4 GB module for a total of 8 GB.
The "removable" 4 GB module can be replaced with either a 8 GB or a 16 GB module.
That would allow it to run with either 12 GB (4 GB + 8 GB) or 20 GB (4 GB + 16 GB) of RAM.
It can use a 260-pin, 1.2 volt, CL=17, Unbuffered, Non-ECC, DDR4-2400 MHz module.
It can also use a 260-pin, 1.2 volt, CL=19, Unbuffered, Non-ECC, DDR4-2666 MHz module.
It does not support more than 20 GB and cannot be increased to 32 GB.
