First make sure all the ram sticks are fully pushed into their sockets, the catch(es) at the end of each slot should click into place and all be in the same position.
If the slot is faulty there's nothing you can do, only cure is to get another motherboard.
For the 'overclocking failed' message the Cmos battery could need replacing, it powers the chip that stores the Bios settings when the computer is switched off.
For now go into the Bios and select the 'set everything to default' setting, the wording can differ but you should be able to find it. Don't forget to save changes. That should stop the overclocking failed message.
