Hi guys,

I will be upgrading from a defective ATI Radeon 9800XT to a new XFX nVidia GeForce 7600GT, for the AGP platform.

When I get the new card, how do I uninstall my ATI card and all the software as to avoid any conflicts during the switchover to nVidia?

Then when I get the new card, how do I get it properly configured? I've never done this before.

Thanks! :)

1 - Nvidia for the latest.
2 - AGP version of GeForce 7 series cards are SLOOOOWER than their PCI-Express sisters.
3 - AGP version of GeForce 7 cards cost MORE than their PCI-e versions.
4 - ATI 2600Pro is about $100 on newegg, vs. $160~180 for the 7600GT.

For a limited system, go for the best bang for the buck.

Check this out: http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=717&model2=1066&chart=275

I selected 7600gs vs 2600Pro (AGP) - The 7600gs(PCIe) performs about the same as the 7600GT AGP.
newegg is down at the moment.

I own a 7600GT... its a great little card (now quite low-end).
