Ok, so I just got my new processor, my new mobo, my new ram, a new graphics card, and a new fan today. I was plugging everything in, when I noticed my power supply only had a 4 pin connector (the one that powers the cpu) and the motherboard had 8. The processor I have is the q6600. I called up my local hardware store, and they said that the computer will work with only the 4, which it does, I'm typing on it now, but the CPU will only get half of the power that it wants. I found this adapter online (http://www.mwave.com/mwave/skusearch.hmx?SCriteria=BA24416&CartID=done&nextloc= ) and was wondering if I used this, would I get all the power that I wanted?

To recap, would this adapter give me my full power potential for my new cpu?

Thanks a lot!

btw the psu is 600w, idk if this is sufficient anyway.

i wouldnt want to run it the way it is now.. but i am sure the adapter would fix the problem.
but power is an important part of a pc..
the best option would be to get a new psu..
but if that isnt an option then you should defiantly buy that adapter.
