Hi.
Just wanted to know if there is any reason why 2 or more different capacity memory strips should not be used in the same PC - say a 64Mb and a 128Mb strip?

Thanks

Hi Gram,

I have not had any problem so far mixing different size, brand, or spec sticks on my Abit be6-II or bh6 MBs.

Others have had problems, though. It might depend on the system you have.

Cheers Otto.
I ask because I have done this on 5 or 6 different PCs and never had a problem, but someone suggested to me today that it was unwise to mix sizes.
I have used PC133 strips, of sizes from 16Mb up to 256Mb in a variety of PCs from crappy old Compaqs to brand new built to order machines.
If anyone can tell me a reason why there would be a problem, or known issues, it would be appreciated.

Cheers
Gram

I’ve mixed sizes with no problem. Some MBs like the largest to be in the first slot, diminishing in turn. Some don’t seem to care.
