I want to share email across a network with one other computer using Outlook 2000 on both PCs.

I've been told to create a public folder, but when I ask 'help' about 'Public Folders' it tells me to create a new folder in the public folder... but there isn't one there?

Help is taking me around in circles! How do I create a Public Folder in the first place?

Go to file
new
Outlook Data File.

Create the file in the directory you want it in.

Then unless I am mistaken, you will just need to create a shortcut to that folder on the outlook bar from both computers.

Hiya

This is how to create a public folder:

http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q195435

On the Tools menu, click Services .

Click Microsoft Exchange Server , and then click Properties .

On the Advanced tab, click Offline Folder File Settings .

Type the path to the file that you want to use as the offline folder file.

If you receive the following message
path filename .ost could not be found. Would you like to create it?
click OK .

Click OK , and then click OK again.
Regards
