Properly Installing New Video Card

761 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  cheese
My computer currently packs the "the beast" (codename for my Geforce2 mx400). Im sadly departing from it....as i have ordered a 9700PRO off ebay which should arrive thursday. I know the best way to ensure going fron Nvidia to ATI is to reformat, but that is not an option. I would like to know what to do to ensure my new card runs the best it can when it gets here. How shall i go about removing the old vid things and going about the new ones properly?

Thanks

try any of these:
http://www.3dchipset.com/utilities/nvidia/driver_removal/index.php
also- go to Control panel - system - hardware - device manager -display adapters: right click on card, Uninstall.
shut down pc, unplug, pull out old card, put in new- reboot (unless there's instructions in the radeon manual saying that you need to install the drivers before you install card)
