My programs and operations have been taking a longer time than expected to load. I cleaned out all the spyware already with Adaware, Spybot, and HiJack This, but with no avail. Here is my Hijack This log after I cleaned out the objects I saw unnecessary:

Is there anything else I should fix? Is there something that isn't there that should be? Please help.

Well alot of XP users have this same issue .. my sister in law had a brand new PC got it home and after initial setup it took almost 9 minutes from the welcome screen to Desktop she called me and I found several conflicts and it all was surrounding Anti virus software .. so I removed Macphee and put in Norton dropped to 22 seconds .. when you are saying it takes a long time how long are we talking?

Also did you install any new software before this happened

Right off the bat you have the peper.a trojan and your version of Hijack This is outdated. Please update to the latest version v1.97.7 and post another log. In the meantime, I will request that this thread be moved over to the Security forum for better assistance. You don't have to do anything, it will be moved for you.

First run this uninstaller to get rid of the peper.a trojan:

*Note: Just click on the uninst.exe and let it run. When it is finished it will just close. There will be no dialogue. Also you must be connected to the internet for the uninstaller to be effective.

Run Hijack This again and put a check by these. Close all windows except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"
