Problems with new RAM

I need help. I just can't figure out how to solve this problem. I bought ram for my pc over a couple months ago that should be compatible to my pc I checked the "cl" the pins the ddr the speed everything and it matched ro I then proceeded to buy the ram. I put the ram into my pc and nothing happens then I try it on the other slots and I'm just messing around with it amd then it works my pc boots up and when I check my task manager I had 8gb of ram. I then put my pc to sleep and went to my dads for a week. I came back and my pc wasnt booting I sat a full day trying to get it to work and it just didn't work but it's not that it's not compatible cause I mean it worked and then I pressed amd holed the cmos button on my motherboard not knowinf what it would do I pressed it and I waited for a couple of hours and came back amd it worked again!! And then I was browsing on my pc and then it just restarted amd then it failed to boot. What is the issue? And keep in mind this ram is brand new it can't be faulty already and it was working as I said.

It would be of a great help - in fact vital to advise you
If you told us the make and full model of the motherboard
The full details of the CPU and the full details of the ram you have bought
By full details of ram I mean a link to the actual ram - not just for instance DDR4 1600
as chip layout and SPD and tested speed are vital elements

Without those details it is impossible to know the reason for the problem
Qumox 4GB DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 CL11 - Köp på 24.se the ram I purchased.
I think this is the motherboard of my pc HP 600 G1 SFF 696549-002 739682-001 739682-501 system motherboard

Cpu is i3-4160

I have a prodesk 600g1 sff

Ans the current only 4gb ram I have working on my system is this https://www.memory4less.com/adata-4gb-ddr3-pc12800-ad3u1600w4g11-b
You mention 8GB so did you buy two sticks of the ram you link to
That ram link will not open for me so I cannot get the spec

I suspect the problem is
DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs For proper system operation, the DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs must be: ●
industry-standard 240-pin ●
unbuffered non-ECC PC3-12800 DDR3-1600 MHz-compliant ●
1.35 volt or 1.5 volt DDR3/DDR3L-SDRAM DIMMs
The DDR3-SDRAM DIMMs must also: ● support CAS latency 11 DDR3 1600 MHz (11-11-11 timing) ●
contain the mandatory JEDEC SPD information
In addition, the computer supports: ● 512-Mbit, 1-Gbit, and 2-Gbit non-ECC memory technologies
● single-sided and double-sided DIMMs ● DIMMs constructed with x8 and x16 DDR devices;
DIMMs constructed with x4 SDRAM are not supported
NOTE: The system will not operate properly if you install unsupported DIMMs

If you can get exact details for that Qumox ram I can check
I do not know where you are but I have never heard of Qumox and it seems to be some manner of product without an actual website
Unless you know differently I would stay with trusted ram
Most ram seites - kingston, crucial etc
guarantee their ram found on their ram search will work.

As I said I suspect chip configuration

Nah the current ram I have now the adata is 4gb and I purchased an additional 4gb of ram the qumox one
the specs of qumox capacity: 4GB
  • Pins: 240
  • DDR3
  • DIMM
  • speed: 1600MHz
  • CL11
  • 1.8V
  • Low Profile

And the current ram I have now

Memory TypeDDR3 SDRAM
Capacity4GB
Data Transfer Rate1600Mhz
Pins240 Pin
Bus TypePC-12800
Error CorrectionNon-ECC
Cycle Time1.25ns
CasCL11
Memory Clock200Mhz
RankRank 1
Voltage1.5

Ohh ok but why has it booted up twice and worked? Is there no way for me to make it work sense icba to buy more ram
No, it cannot work. The ram you purchased shows 1.8V. No way would a hp motherboard have the option to set ram voltage. DDR3 standard voltage is 1.5V.
Just because it booted once does NOT mean the ram will work.
If you had an asus or asrock board, you might be able to make it work. With a hp, no way.
Are really sure you bought ddr3? 1.8V is standard for ddr2 ram. Both have 240 pins.
If you have a HP ProDesk 600 G1 Small Form Factor, its motherboard supports a maximum of 32 GB(8 GB x 4) of DDR3-1600 MHz RAM.

As crjdriver has already advised you, DDR3 modules are 1.5 volt and not 1.8 volt.
This probably what was bought
Qumox 4GB 1600 DDR3 PC3-12800 DIMM PC3 Desktop RAM Memory 240pin CL11 : Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
which is indeed shown as
1.8 volts

as I said not the best choice of ram - Qumox.
As we cannot, or at least I cannot get an exact spec for the ram, we do not know if the reference to 1.8 is the JDEC max allowed (standard reference) for OC - in otherwords tested voltage mnax
or what it is supposed to run at on SPD

Whatever has been bought I doubt it is DDR2
as although as crjdriver has said they both have 240pins - I thought the notch on the stick was in a different location on the pin out.

DDR2 vs DDR3 Memory - Difference between DDR2 and DDR3 RAM (buildcomputers.net)
so if it was DDR2 - it would not fit the dimm slot

True however some boards of that era had slots for both types of ram.
I'm so confused what should I do. I have to wait awhile before I can buy new ram. But why isn't the new ram working okayy If they don't work together but when I put it in buy itself it should work right? And you said no way it would work thanks hoe did it work TWICE. I don't think that's I miracle I belive there is a fix to this problem but hey what do I know
It has been explained to you in detail by me with the copy of your full service manual for your computer and by another member as to why it will work temporarily

In that case, I suggest you accept what has been posted to you
You cannot run ram at 1.8v on that board
From your service manual
1.35 volt or 1.5 volt DDR3/DDR3L-SDRAM DIMM

Ohhhhhh so the volt is to high?
I think you may have some incorrect specs. I have never seen ddr3 ram with that high of voltage. Even performance ram would only be 1.65V or maybe 1.7V.
