I have a 640GB hard drive, a 250GB external hard drive, and a recently purchased 1TB hard drive. The 640 GB hard drive has been giving me some troubles.

Here's the screenshot from disk management.

I was using Linux Mint live CD to boot up my computer for some time and at first it was working properly then it stopped showing a partition (other partitions worked without problems). And when I installed Windows the hard drive didn't show at all (this is after I got the 1TB hard drive where I installed Windows XP). I checked disk management, where the hard drive was shown. I tried some option called ''convert to basic disk" or something (I don't remember exactly) and the hard drive then worked!

I installed Windows 7 and ran disk management again and it showed the drive as "Online" (Errors) or something (this might have been the case in XP as well, I don't remember exactly). The hard disk has been working fine until now.

But I suspected something wrong so I got this software called Hard Disk Sentinel to be sure.
Here are the results for the drives.

There's also some problem with my external hard drive. I doesn't get detected all the time and in some cases gets disconnected - cable problem?

Anything I can do about these problems? Any way to repair?

Also, I have Windows 7 on my 1TB drive. I have 4 partitions created on this hard disk, and there's lot of unallocated space too. But when I try to create a partition on the unallocated free space, it tells me that the disk needs to be converted to dynamic disk and I won't be able to start any other installed OS from this drive. I don't have any other OS installed right now but I would very much want to create a partition for Linux (a small one maybe) so what should I do? Go ahead with it? Here's the warning I get:
