Hello and welcome to TSG!!

Did you have to disturb the HDD in any way during the RAM installation? I would try to disconnect and re-connect the HDD.
The ASUS VivoBook Max has several model numbers.
What's the exact model number of yours?

How much RAM did yours come with?
Why were you trying to install a 2 GB module in it?

I did that but it didn’t fix the problem

I honestly think I might just have to take it to a technician
Get an estimate first. If it only came with 2GB of RAM to begin with, it was likely a low-end model. It may also be fairly old. Be sure you can justify the cost of repair vs. putting that $$ toward a replacement. Black Friday is coming ...
