I have been trying for about 6 months to re download flash player. I had it on my computer until I updated my IE. I have tried to uninstall and redownload, I have checked my permissions, I have went into my registry and followed every direction that the adobe website has given me, I have done everything all but take my computer to a specialist. I have tried everything on the adobe website to fix this problem but nothing works. Everytime I try to download flashplayer, it says download complete but I still cannot view anything that needs the flashplayer. Please, please can someone tell me what I can do to fix this problem. Now when I try to download flashplayer there is a " in the top left corner and a [+] sign with feedback in the right bottom corner. What does that mean? I have been in this forum before and a few people told me a few things to do to fix this problem but nothing has worked yet. I would so much appreciate help with this. Thanks

I went through the same problem as you have and tried for six weeks and numerous uninstall intall from the Adobe site. I finally gave up and uninstalled IE7, then everything works fine. I reinstalled IE7 and again nothing works. I am back to IE6 and I will stay there until either Microsoft or Adobe fixes the problem.

heres a fix you can try thats worked for me and other people who were ready to scream or throw the computer out the window. first uninstall it again completely from your add/remove list. then go to www.softwarepatch.com and look for adobe flash player 9 active x the stand alone version. the correct file should say install_flash_player_active_x. thats the one you need. download it and then install it when its in the computer correctly it will say adobe flash player 9 active x size 2.33 mb. i saved it on my c drive when it asks you if you want to save or run hit save. then when you want to install it hit install. i hope this helps you and everyone else whos having a problem i know because i tried everything and the adobe site was worse than useless as it kept telling me either i had version 9 or that it was installing it and it kept disappearing. :) if you see that put in correctly in your add/remove programs with the size listed good job and have a cup of coffee to calm your nerves.

I have tried this procedure several times. I still can't get Flash 9 to work with IE7. On other threads and in other forums the experts advise not to uninstall Flash and Shockwave using Add and Remove. Rather they suggest the olfficial uninstall program found on the Adobe site. This site has uninstall and stand alone install downloads for Flash and Shockwave. http://sdc.shockwave.com/shockwave/download/alternates/

have you tried the software patch website and uninstalling flash player and shockwave from your computer? give it a try it might work for you. i had no problems uninstalling flash or shockwave from either one of my computers at all. i just had problems installing the flash player and the softwarepatch website was the answer to my prayers. it worked when everything else failed and i was ready to scream. :) let us know what happens.

i am very glad the suggestion worked for you. you are very welcome. now we have one less person ready to throw their computer out the window. :) for anyone else thats still having problems just take the flash player and shockwave out from your add/remove list go to softwarepatch and download the flash player file and install it. its really very simple. honest! if a computer dummy like me can do it anyone can. 3 years ago i didnt even want to touch a computer for fear i would blow it up. i put down that my experience is advanced as i had an old compaq computer to practice on. when i would have a problem i would fix it and not panic. i think im advanced in not cringing everytime something goes stupid on a computer. ask for help or try to fix it yourself and stay calm. remember if its not broke fix it anyway and make it worse! :) just kidding . if its working leave it alone and keep your hands to yourself.
