I am working with a group of letters - approximately 780 -
that are generated through a Mail Merge with Access.
Here's the entire setup:
Win98 SE
Word 2000
Access 2000
HP 1200c Printer
It's not an issue with the printer or the Mail Merging as
the printer does print everything it is told to, and the
Mail Merge does have everything - I can verify that.
When I tell it to print (any number of ways) all the
pages, it starts through the list, and then will randomly
either stop (e.g, only 8 pages get sent to print) or skip
pages (e.g, pages 1 - 400 are printed, 401 - 480 are
skipped, 481 - 600 are printed, 601 - 625 are skipped,
etc.). There's no pattern to what is skipped.
When I go back to try to print the ranges that were
skipped, it will then skip parts of those ranges. I.e.
range 401 to 480 is skipped initially, so I tell it to
print only pages 401 to 480, but it then skips 420 to 425,
and 440.
It may skip a single page, or multiples.
Is this simply a matter of trying to print more than Word
can handle?
I noticed someone else posted on 02/26 having a similar
problem, but there was no resolution.
I really really need a solution as I have to do this
printing every month, and with this problem I have to
verify each by hand. (This month they must be ordered by
ZIP, so the time becomes even greater to verify them.)
What could be causing this?
Is there any other information that could be helpful in
diagnosing this?
