ok, so in a string of problems i have been having this one tops it all. my computer was working fine again for a 1 after having smelled burning plastic while turning on my pc the other day, now today i was on photoshop for about 4 hrs+ and i went away for 5 minute to come back and the pc was off, so i turn it on again it boots up fine and then 5 minutes later it just shuts off again and now it won't turn on. i've checked what i have the capability to check which is only the power bar and it's working, either then that i have no idea how to check the other hardware. any thoughts?

The quickest way to test is to swap in a known working pw supply. You do not even have to fully install the unit; I just connect it and switch ON to test.
