Want to plug my laptops power converter into a extension cord and then into wall?

How big a no, no is this?

Well the only thing I would think would be because it might use a lot of amps.

If you used a heavier extension cord vs. One from like the dollar store it'd probably work just fine.

But this is just my opinion I've never had a reason to do so , so I can't speak from personal experience

Many people have their laptops plugged into a surge bar, and some use extension cords too. There's absolutely no issue with one being used with a laptop. Using cheap extension cords or surge bars with heavy draw equipment such as large laser printers can be an issue. Using a UPS or battery backup with laser printer is also not advised due to power draw and spikes caused by them turning on.

The only computer-related device that I've had that warns to plug it DIRECTLY into a wall outlet is a battery backup unit.
I've never had a problem with connecting a laptop to an extension cord first and then into a wall outlet.

Totally agree there is no electrical problem but do take care in the location of the extension cable because they can trip people up.
